Training with Jonathan has been life-changing. His approach is one of patience and kindness, and he is incredibly welcoming. He has completely dispelled any intimidation I previously felt before walking into a gym. I have spent my life engaged in endurance sports–running and cycling–and given no attention to weight training. Jonathan has taught me the importance of both, and how weight training can make you a better endurance athlete. My form was terrible and I was getting injured repeatedly. Through working with Jonathan, I now love lifting weights and I’m hooked. His attention to detail has made all the difference. I feel myself getting stronger and more powerful, and I can sense my body becoming more balanced and in better alignment. Little aches and pains that I thought was just a part of aging, are dissipating. I can’t thank Jonathan enough. He has taught me so much about the muscular system, brings out the best in me in the gym, and is helping me become the best version of myself.

After a couple months training with Jonathan, my body was really transforming. I finally have glutes! I have learned so many different exercises and have been challenged to do things I never thought I could. After a year of struggling with this broken ankle and spending way too much time in a brace, I was able to start running again. I was very surprised at how strong I have become from the training. Jonathan is by far one of the best endurance coaches I have worked with so far. His ability to work around my school schedule and other priorities in life is a huge help. His openness to communication is what I find makes him so helpful. If I ever had questions or concerns, Jonathan was on it to figure out a way to answer them and get them sorted out. After bike races, I would often call Jonathan to discuss the day’s race and what I could take away from each race. His experience in racing has also been a huge help to me; he gives me advice after every race and helps me improve from event to event. Another big way Jonathan has helped me is by balancing my school cross country running with cycling. He has made my transition between each sport and season extremely smooth and simple, as well as helping me stay injury-free through each transition. One of the most astounding things Jonathan has done for me as a junior athlete is finding opportunities for me to participate in. Opportunities for junior road racing are few and far between, but Jonathan has actively looked for group rides, midweek races, and even invitations for me to race out of the country. I am extremely happy with Jonathan’s coaching and hope to work with him more in future seasons.

As an age-group triathlete who has not been in the weight room since high school gym class, Jonathan’s expertise as a personal trainer has been amazing. His patient and encouraging demeanor have helped me to learn the proper technique for dozens of new exercises. My favorite part about working with Jonathan, though, is that he pushes me beyond what I think I can do. Our workouts are challenging and give me more confidence to continue to do more. As the weather begins to warm, I’m seeing the benefits of weight lifting in my running, cycling and swimming. I can’t wait to see what the season will bring!
